The Gold Assest Never Goes to Zero – Wealth Cycles Blog
Tune into this video blog for Michael Maloney’s live interview with “Business Week Taiwan” from Mike’s recent Asian speaking tour.
Mike uses history to illustrate his point to his Taiwanese audience. “We live in a world that is in a blizzard of paper assets. Those paper assets, if you look at them throughout history, all of them eventually go to zero,” he explains.
How many companies in existence today honor stock certificates from 200 years ago? How many nations honor bonds issued 200 or 300 years ago? Now compare the history of paper assets like stocks and bonds with that of gold. “Gold has never gone broke,” Mike continues. “It’s been around for about 5,000 years; it’s been minted into coins where it’s been money for 2,600 years, and it’s never gone to zero.”
